*from half way between Manakaralahy & Ejeda in southern Madagascar.
* 16.25 inches in diameter and about 1/2' thick.
I got this from a young girl that showed me how to use it in the mud. After several attempts, I found no gold. So she took the pan and reworked the mud to show me all the gold I missed. It wasn't much gold, maybe a few grains, but it was slightly embarrassing, as I considered myself an experienced panner. The young girl & her tribe didn't want to sell their pans as this is how they sustain themselves financially. I had to pay enough to cover their loss for the next couple of days until they made a new pan.
I'm not billing this as a usable gold pan but more of a unique novelty item you just don't see very often.
