The prominent purple is not the vlasovite (Na2ZrSi4O11 ), that is eudialyte. The white rind around the eudialyte is the rare mineral gittinsite (CaZrSi2O7). The vlasovite is the smoky quartz-like material around surrounded by the eudialyte and gittinsite.
Russia and Canada are the two famous and well-known locality for vlasovite. The Kipawa complex in Quebec, Canada produces the brownish vlasovite. Vlasovite is yellow to pale light green under short-wave UV light.
