Dig either Saturday or Sunday or Both Days! You will regret not doing both days. 

Limits: You get to keep anything valued under $1000 (per piece). You can purchase anything else for a wholesale value determined by the guide. You can NOT keep any t-rex teeth OR Pachycephalosaurus bones.

We have a minimum of 10 people to make this happen. 

Difficulty Level:

  • On a scale of 1 to 3 this is a 2. We do not recommend kids under 12.

  • Capacity: Limited to about 50 people
  • Age Restriction: Kids 12 are not recommended. If you have a kid younger, reach out to Rick to discuss arrangements.

Vehicle Requirements:

  • Car with good tires required. 

What's Included:

  • Expert guidance from someone with 35+ years experience digging dinos.
  • Identification assistance
  • Take home everything you find valued under $1000 determined by the guide. 

What to Bring:

  • Rock hammer and chisel
  • Bucket or two for specimens
  • Material to wrap specimens in (toilet paper, foil, paper towels, small containers)
  • Shovel (optional but recommended)
  • Hand lens (essential for micro minerals)
  • Food and water for the day
  • Appropriate hiking gear and sturdy boots
  • Ice pick
  • Sun shade
  • PaleoBond glue.

Trip Focus & Difficulty:

  • Collecting Style: You will be sitting in the direct sun, and by sitting, I mean laying on your belly a lot.
  • Physical Demand: very little
  • Digging: Hard digging not necessary, but be prepared for physical activity
  • Skill Level: Mineral identification background helpful, or come ready to ask lots of questions!

What You'll Find:

The list of goodies we have found is long. Most abundant are many species of dino teeth. Ribs, toe bones, jaw bones, leg bones are all common. 

I recommend you sign up for both days. It is a long drive and you will want to make it worth your time. No one has done just one day and said "I'm glad I only did one day".
