Chrysocolla Collecting Adventure in Arizona

Join us for an exciting day of chrysocolla collecting in Tonopah, Arizona's mineral-rich landscape. This guided trip offers you the opportunity to find beautiful blue-green chrysocolla specimens in their natural desert setting. The rock consists of cuprite, tennentite, shattackite, azurite, malachite, and more. 

cost:

$215 per person for the high grade material. You will get to collect about 1/2 a 5 gallon bucket (~8 pounds). Families can share a bucket.

Sign up now and when we get 10 people, I will call and make arrangements for payment. 

WE MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 10 PEOPLE SIGN UP. 

If you want to collect surface material or with kids then it is $100 per bucket. Obviously not the same quality material. 

Kids under 12 are free with paying adult. Their quantity counts toward paying adults limit. No kids under 7 for safety reasons. Plus, they will not have fun. 

There is no accommodations. We can camp at the mine or there is a local RV park that has camping for a fee. 

Sunday we will be collecting at other sites-to be determined.

The drive is over 10 hours from Salt Lake City. Maritta & I will be going down Friday and coming back on Monday. Tonopah is about an hour west of Phoenix. 

Heavy tools are required: pry bars, hammers, etc.

4x4 or really good clearance is required. 

Power tools are allowed.
